Five categories - five chances!

Since 2007, the bauma Innovation Award has been offered in five categories. All innovations handed in must be related to the construction equipment, building material and mining equipment industry or to the construction industry or building material industry. The jury pays particular attention to the innovation being sustainable as well as of high practical use. In addition, the winning technologies are required to meet the criteria of helping to improve productivity, performance, energy efficiency as well as the humanization of work and/or being environmentally friendly. With regard to construction process and construction work, the jury is particularly interested to see an image benefit with the invention. All innovations will be shown at bauma 2010.

Category 1: Machinery

Companies are asked to submit their application here, who can offer new developments in the field of engineering technology to be used for construction, in mining or to produce, process, handle or packing building materials.

Category 2: Machinery Component

Whether a machinery is successful on the market or not to a large extent depends on the functions of its components. If you have developed new, modified or additional components that improve the operational performance of a construction, building material or mining machinery, you may submit your application in this category.

Category 3: Construction Process/Construction Work

Modern architecture and construction work requires a lot from the construction and building materials industry. In order to meet these requirements, engineers and experts of the industry need to develop new construction processes and need to optimise building materials that fit to practical demands. Companies that offer a new solution in this field of industry should apply for category 3. Application is limited to members of the association HDB, BBS and ZDB.

Category 4: Research

Research is the basis for technical progress. Companies cannot compete on the world market without technical progress. Research results submitted in this category should be of high practical use for the construction equipment, building material and mining machinery industry or the construction and buildings material industry. Application is limited to research institutes, universities and other institutes of higher education.

Category 5: Design

Design is more than technical construction. It is the melting of function and form. A good design attracts buyers. Thus design also influences the economic development of a company. This also goes for the construction equipment, building material machinery and mining equipment industry. Apply here, if you have created a new look that also supports technical advantages.
